The Savannah River Basin Teacher Quality Grant is an exciting opportunity for teachers from Richmond County to experience interdisciplinary problem-centered, place-based STEM during a field campaign starting at the Southeastern Natural Sciences Academy, following the river down to the coast, and finishing on Ossabaw Island. Teachers will work with research scientists to identify and explore issues around hydrology and water quality. They will then design a module to take back to their classrooms that engages students in these same issues in their place, provides the opportunity for them to collect and analyze some of their own data, and connects them with STEM research in their area.
