Tabby slave cabins will be a central element in effort to portray African-American experience on Georgia coast.

Ossabaw Island Foundation's restoration of the 1918 Boarding House on Ossabaw Island received an Award of Excellence in Restoration from the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation for 2010. at the April Annual Meeting of the Georgia Trust.

An Award of Excellence in Preservation from Historic Savannah Foundation was presented to the Foundation in October 2009 for the outstanding work on the 1918 Boarding House.
