All Visits to Ossabaw Island Must Be in Compliance with the Heritage Preserve Act:
”Ossabaw shall only be used for natural, scientific and cultural study, research and education, and environmentally sound preservation, conservation, and management of the Island’s ecosystem, under conditions carefully monitored and controlled by the Department of Natural Resources;” (Executive Order of Georgia Governor George Busbee, June 15. 1978).
All Visits to Ossabaw Island Must be Hosted – Free Range Visits are Prohibited:
All visits to Ossabaw Island must be hosted either by the Ossabaw Island Foundation or the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GA DNR).
All Other Visits to Ossabaw are Scheduled and Approved Through the Ossabaw Island Foundation. A TOIF Representative must be on the island at all times when their visitors are on the island.
